Hey there,
My name is Sam (actually that’s just my nickname). I’m 18 years old and from UAE, but you can always refer to me as ‘Simply’. Just some points on how SimplyBowmen came to the creation.
Actually, I have started playing Maplestory even since I was 15 when I saw a bunch of friends playing the game with very much enthusiasm. I wondered how could a 2D game be so much fun. I gave it a try, and before I knew it, I already was enjoying it.
My first character was a Bowman named ToxicBullets (I guess that explains my Sleepywood ID), I really loved the Bowman class, and I actually made it to level 130 on him. But just to the fact that he was an off-ranker, made it a lost cause leveling him up any further (never let your cheating sibling ever play on your account, trust me).
After reaching 130, my maple career as greatly collapsed, for some reasons I never knew why (could have it possibly been my FA-build, thrust less character or being an off-ranker, or just all of them?) . So I decided to start new and fresh. A clean slate that no one will ever have to judge me upon. So I took all my hard earned equipments and money and transferred all of them to my new account.
Starting fresh had many benefits for me, I’m now very informed regarding where to train, how to train and the hottest training spots for a Bowman. I also saved myself so much money spent on NX just resetting those additional points in STR, and knowing that I have all my equipments and money. I asked myself, why not?
The name ‘SimplyBowmen’ popped in my mind when I went shopping for music records. There was a whole shelf of records named ‘Simply [insert music genre here]‘ I remember getting some of Simply Mozart and Simply Classical Gold. I was like “hmm, why not SimplyBowman?” , but of course, the IGN ‘SimplyBowman’ was taken by a level 14 Archer (Don’t you just hate it when low-levels get the Epic names!), so I just made it from ‘Bowman’ to ‘Bowmen’.
And that is my Story!
Thats an amazing story :]
I too like archers, mainly because i just do, and i dont like to die xD I also had an archer to start off as (minus the characters i messed up on, 20 int warrior doesnt make you any smarter) untill my friend (not anymore) deleted my archer :[ so far i have a lvl 82 DK and a lvl 94 CB, lvl 64 Bandit, lvl 52 ice mage, and a lvl 72 priest, but im so happy now that i have a lvl 72 archer
Thanks for the guide about the windraiders, i might try it out, but so far im going on a AR build, going to mainly FoG (forest of golems) MP3 (mysterious path 3) and gryphons. Oh btw i had the same problem >:O i tried to get the name "happyarrow" but a low lvl archer had taken it i swear it was my friend because it was the name i had used for the one he deleted (shakes fist of furrie) GL on your archer :] hopefully ill catch up xD
Thanks for the comment! Good luck on your character(s) as well~
Hi! I am a bowman also but I am losing my inspiration and fast! I use to be a level 94 priest but I was hacked resulting in a time that I stopped playing maple. I then decided to try out the way of the bowman because I had seen most of IAngelial’s videos. I got to lvl 64 (where I currently am now) and I am stuck with no inspiration to level at all. I think I might even resort to leeching! How do you suggest I get my inspiration back to leveling? Thanks if you answer
Thanks for sharing your input! I certainly and profoundly appreciate it because I am experiencing the same situation. At the moment, I feel stuck at level 112 due to numerous reasons, but having no inspiration to level at all is the main one. I do feel out for you, it really sometimes can get frustrating.
As you mentioned earlier, watching higher level videos really does help, in sort of a way that gets you pumped up. I normally just enjoy these great videos out there as if watching a movie, just sit back and relax. It makes the experience so much real, when it feels so distant.
Another thing I have experienced as well was taking decent breaks. You really don’t have to stress it on yourself, because personally, since level 112 was my highest achievement with my current character, I just look at my previous achievements and take so much pride with what I have accomplished. So my advice, take pride in what you’ve managed to accomplish.
Also, a point that I really enjoy doing while having no passion to level at all at the moment is planning my bowman’s future ahead. I’ll give you a personal example, with my bowman currently 112, that’s 8 levels away from 4th job, so I plan it till then. Maybe having sharing the thoughts with my other friends could enhance the experience. I also find myself updating the plans that I have firstly placed, even though I haven’t much started engaging in them. Same with you, I bet you can’t wait to hit 3rd job, so I’d work on that.
See, the point really is that it’s not a race to level up fast, but it’s more like getting the most out of the levels that you gain. In my honest opinion, when I decided to write the Windraider guide in particular of mine, I wasn’t precisely in the process of “leveling up”, but that was more during the break that I took, contemplating my current progress, and made the best out of it, by making this guide. It didn’t only help me in so many ways, but it also helped many others that I might not get a chance to meet.
All-in-all, just relax because this is the best thing you can possibly do. Lol, I also pretty much enjoy responding to such posts, so don’t hesitant in leaving any comment now and then. Hope my input served the good purpose you were looking for. T
Take care!
I really appreciate you replying to my comment! It really helped me understand more about archers. I hope that this weekend I can achieve level 70! If I try my hardest I can probably do it and get to level 120 sometime in the summer.
I wish you luck on your upcoming levels and hope you find inspiration to get to 120! Just try your best and you can get to 13x on this account as well as your old one. I hope that you can also make more inspiration for yourself and others as you seek your journey. Good luck with your levels and videos! Remember you now have another fan <3
Aw, thanks so much for being so cheerful. Well, I try my best to be as inspiring as I used to be, I also will resume playing as soon as I get my connection back (is currently at a local internet cafe center). Thanks so much for your post and good luck on your character as well.
Well here is another comment from me! (Lol, this time it is random) I have always been fond of making guilds and have been making numerous guilds (Over 12) during my maplestory experience. I am tired of constantly making and deleting guilds. Since I want to make one final guild and keep it do you have any good names I could use? I am in the world Bera so no Berain guild names that you know plz! All the names I have now is Felys, but I don’ really know a name… Could you help me out?
Also srry to put this in another comment cuz i thought of this like 1 min after I put in the other one. Could you make a newtie training guild for rangers and for bowmasters when you get there? Since you are going to be a BM soon and you are training at newties I would like a ranger one! Also a training guild for a BM would be great too! If you do thx it gives me more inspiration to level!
Honestly your my bowman idol xD I started playing about 2 years ago when my cousin introduced me to it. I played sins, clerics, and warriors. But i quit all of them for a bowman and i love it. Thanks to your windraider guide it help me from almost quiting. I have a question though…what is your ranger skill build and what do you suggest?? Im kind of lost after AR and strafe.
Hey Kyle! Aw, so sweet thing of you to say <3
Sure, well in regards to my Ranger skill build, I honestly went first with Strafe build in order to train very effectively at Lower Ascent (Windraiders). After that, I got my Silver Hawk maxed, and I’ve always kept thinking why did I ignore Arrow Rain all that time. Arrow rain is a fabulous skill.
Make sure you get Maxed Strafe and at least level 21 Arrow Rain as soon as possible. If you do so, you can train practically everywhere, from Nightshadows (2) to Typhoons, with both great exp rates and more possibilities in order to vary your training.
If your question is which one to go for first, I’d say Arrow Rain since training at Gobies in Aqua is sexy exp from your end 70′s to your end 90′s and possibly beyond. By that time, you should have maxed Strafe and ready to move on.
As for after Strafe and Arrow Rain, I truly have to agree with you, it seems kinda confusing which to go next. In my honest opinion, next thing I’d personally do is get at least level 5 puppet, in order to set minor distraction to monsters and unlock Silver Hawk skill.
After you’ve unlocked Silver Hawk, I’d really urge you to get it at most to level 16 at the moment (for 90% stun) which is so useful and beneficial. After Hawk, you work on puppet more, and alternate between both skills.
Then what I’d recommend next, after maxing all the beforehand mentioned skills would be Mortal Blow (an amazing 1HKO skill) and Thrust (Passive Haste), I wouldn’t recommend inferno, since you’d be missing on those two very worthy skills. You can do like me and have 1 point in inferno for the fun of it, but I’d seriously would never recommend it. That’s just my perspective of the whole inferno-thrust-mortal blow debate thing that has been going on on various maple forums.
Well, if you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to do so. After all, this blog was solemnly dedicated to help and assist bowmen there such as yourself!
Take care^^
~Sam
Wow. That helped A LOT. Thank you very much xD
As i am training though i keep thinking where to train next. I know that there are a lot of guides saying where to train but i am really wondering which place would help me gain mesos. Like a place where i can gain good exp and gain mesos at the same time. I hear goby? But wouldnt Nightshodows give me a chance to gain 500+mil from that GM scroll??
Thank you so much for helping me!
Mhm, I believe Nightshadows are the next solo training for Archers. It’s just too good to let go, in terms of exp and as you mentioned, its badges that are very worthy. GM scrolls can reach up to 650m in Broa that is, so yea, its a very strategic option. Its also practically a very splendid alternative from your mid-80′s up to your mid-110′s. There’s another guide linked in my Nightshadow guide for the higher leveled archers. You should give it a try once, you’ll like it!
Anytime buddy, we’re here for each other no?
Hey.
I have been reading through all the things that you have posted here and other places. Although I am a level 5x xbowman, I have been itching to know how to make such money that you make without the use of nx (if that is possible).
Hey,
I have reading about your journey and needless to say, I’m glad that I did. Currently I am a level 5x xbowman that is struggling through money problems. So my real question is how do we get money without the use of NX? I will be glad to hear from you.
Sorry for the double, (now triple) post.
You can always do the quests provided to you on your early levels, also, there’s a place where you can make around 700~800k an hour by killing leprechauns. You can also give it a shot and try merching. I hear that people make alot doing that
hey there, salams. i’m the gal from youtube, on judy abott’s arabic theme. just saying i dropped by, and though i have no idea what kind of business (games?!) you’re into, well done and i wish u all the best.
